Viva La Cultura Avondale
The West Valley Arts Council and the City of Avondale are seeking Arizona Latino and Chicano-American artists to submit 2D artwork for consideration for the IMPRINT: Viva La Cultura AVONDALE exhibit at the Avondale Civic Center Library in Avondale, AZ. The exhibit will showcase the talent of local Latino and Chicano artists and correspond with Hispanic Heritage Month. The exhibit will take place in the new City of Avondale Art Gallery near the entrance of the Avondale Civic Center Library located at 11350 W Civic Center Dr, Avondale, AZ.
The exhibit will run August 7 - October 20, 2026.
Artwork will be curated and installed on a cable system at the City of Avondale Art Gallery through the coordination of the West Valley Arts Council, and there will be a QR code point of purchase system for customers. The WVAC will accept 25% commission on any sales, with an artist earning the remaining 75%. Artwork sales will be closed out after the end of the exhibit and after all purchased artwork has been picked up by customers.

Gel Printing Workshop
Introductory workshop to learn gel print-making Learn a new print-making techinique! This gel printing workshop is an introduction to mono-type print-making using a 5"x7" gel printing plate. Experiment with stencils, textures, and natural materials to create papers for collage or as a stand alone art print. All tools and materials provided. INSTRUCTOR: Cynthia Dunn-Selph is a mixed media artist and photographer who has been exhibiting and teaching in California and Arizona for over 30 years. See her work at alldunnart.com.
Kids Foam Printing Workshop
Learn to make an original print using foam plates, texture, and paint. Fun with foam printing! Kids will learn a creative printing technique to create original art using foam sheets, textures, and acrylic paint. This enchanting, hands-on workshop will explore kid-friendly print-making, building dexterity and color dynamics while making textures to create unique artwork. Materials and tools provided, and kids get to take their creations home. Great for kids 6 and up*. Instructed by artist Cynthia Dunn-Self, a mixed media artist and photographer who has been exhibiting and teaching in California and Arizona for over 30 years. The class will be held at the Arts HQ Gallery in Surprise where your little artist is surrounded by the newest exhibit of professional local artwork, Lasting Impressions , featuring artwork using different methods of printing.
