For sculpted prints, save your print bodies to display with the finished artwork. The theme is open, but must be suitable for a family audience. This is not for regular prints of artwork/digital artwork, but to showcase the different types of physical artwork prints.

Artwork should represent the WW2 era from 1939-1945, using iconic themes of automobiles, airplanes, Rosie the Riveter, tasteful pin-up girls, wartime culture, and other social themes from that historic period. The art call is open to various 2D and 3D art media. Exhibited artwork will be displayed on easels or pedestals. Artwork must be suitable for a family audience.

The call is open through 15 JUNE 2026 and the exhibition participants are selected by an ever-changing group of three prestigious arts professionals. The exhibition is installed in the gallery 16 September and remains on view through 17 October, with an opening reception in conjunction with the Arts District New Orleans’ First Saturday Gallery Openings on 3 October 2026 from 5-8 pm.
The NO DEAD ARTISTS exhibition was founded by Jonathan Ferrara in 1995 to give a voice to emerging artists. The exhibition’s name is derived from the old adage that artists never achieve success until they are dead. NO DEAD ARTISTS turns that notion on its head and often gives emerging artists their first break in the art world. In the 90’s, the exhibition was open to New Orleans-based artists and subsequently grew to include artists of Louisiana, then becoming a national juried exhibition in 2010. In 2014, Matthew Weldon Showman opened the call internationally, expanding the opportunity to artists everywhere and producing an even more diverse and compelling survey of Contemporary Art.
Now in its monumental 30th iteration, the exhibition has been a springboard for numerous artists; leading to national press coverage, recognition, gallery representation, art fair exhibition, and acquisitions by museums and other prominent collections. Each year the gallery invites a panel of renowned arts professionals and collectors to select the newest creative talents from around the world AND as the GRAND PRIZE, one jury-winning artist is awarded a solo exhibition at FERRARA SHOWMAN GALLERY to take place the following year.

Michelle Burkhardt is a fine artist in Arizona. She has lived all over the United States and a few years overseas. Her paintings reflect her love of landscapes, nature, and the world around her. Michelle has lived and travelled in the Atlantic Coast region, the Middle East, Europe, the Central US, the Pacific Northwest, and currently the American Southwest, increasing her subject matter. Michelle studied under William Cather Hook at the Scottsdale Artists School, John Horejs in Buckeye, Arizona and Katherine Uitz in Leander, Texas. She has shown at The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and Arts with a View in the Community of Verrado, Arizona. Michelle is a member of Victory Artisans and the Verrado Artist Collaborative. Michelle’s process: once a subject is chosen, she takes a photograph and sketches it back in her home studio. From there, she decides her best approach to achieve the painting she is looking for. While most of her paintings are done using oil colors, she also enjoys watercolor, pencil and acrylics. A project for innovation, creativity, and sustainability in the West Valley! Building a sustainable art scene by creating an art resource center to serve artists, teacher, nonprofits, and creators in Arizona.
Every project has it's final touches; the last dot of paint on a canvas, the period at the end of a sentence. The Dot. exists to make sure every creator has the ability to affordably and sustainably source their "Dot." Our organization's long term goals include creating a Creative Reuse Center in Surprise that functions like an art thrift store. Creators, artists, teachers, theatres, and nonprofits can drop off and pick up left over supplies for free or a small donation. Not only does this promote recycling and sustainability, but creativity with unique and repurposed supplies. We are currently seeking a location to operate the resource center out of. If you or someone you know is interested in being a part of this project, please reach out!
Born and Raised in the West Valley, Gates is a multi-instrumentalist, singer, experienced stage performer, voice actor, and passionate Game Master/Storyteller in love with performance and telling stories. Gates is a talented singer, plays Guitar, Electric Bass, Piano, and has a background in Violin, Cello, and Banjo. Gates as performed in theater, puppetry, musical theater, and choir groups in England, California, and Arizona. They have worked as a voice actor for a number of independent projects. Gates is an experienced game master for table-top role-playing games, especially Vampire: the Masquerade, Dungeons & Dragons 5th Edition, Pathfinder 2nd Edition, Cyberpunk 2020, Hunter: the Reckoning, and Hunter: the Vigil.
